Faction Sign-up
What is Faction Sign-up?
As we know the apocalyptic effects of the Comet sparked a conflict between the Noldor elves and the Kingdom of the Seven Hills. Around this conflict a number of unlikely alliances appeared, leading to the formation of the game’s two camps – Task Force Griffin and The Fellowship.
IMPORTANT!
For the 2021 installment of The Fog picking a side is obligatory and done prior to the game by submitting the form below!
If you are an individual player, this entire topic is mostly irrelevant to you. However, you can still be a sympathizer and aid whichever faction you find appropriate.
The Fellowship
Following the Kingdom’s surprise attack, the Noldor elves gained not one, but two uncanny allies – the cunning Norsemen and the blood-crazed Cult of Gargavran. Soon others joined the elven effort to defend Belitsa and quickly formed a worthy adversary to the Sevenhillean war machine.
As suspicious as everybody’s motives seem, the Fellowship does well in halting the enemy advance.
Task Force Griffin
The task force is a loose alliance of expeditionary forces aiming to take over the Belitsa region and establish long-lasting mining operations.
In its core stands the Bdin-Sevenhillean alliance – a friendship unthinkable only months ago, now leads a band of desperate warriors into enemy territory with the hope of sparing their loved ones the horror of starvation.
Active and associated members
Although in the end everybody chose a side, some were less inclined to do so, therefore some faction members aid the war effort less than others.
For the needs of the game two types of LARP groups will be recognized – Active members and Associated members.
Each LARP group can choose whichever option they desire, however at a later time this may change if the needs for a balanced game demand so.
Active members
- Active members make up the main force of their camp.
- They actively aid the effort of their allies – by combat, questing, field support, etc.
- At least half of their playtime will revolve around the main storyline.
- Actions that may be hurtful to their allies in any way are strictly forbidden. This does not mean that each individual character supports the actions of their superiors, but most of them do.
Associated members
- Choosing to be an associated member might seriously hinder your group’s experience since a huge portion of the game will revolve around the main storyline.
- Associated members are satellite supporters of their camp.
- They passively aid the effort of their allies with resources, information and sometimes join sporadic assaults or missions.

Factional balance
With the aim of providing a more balanced and structured experience to the players, sign-up for a certain camp might be temporarily or entirely closed.
This means that the entire sign-up works on a “first come, first served” principle and waiting for too long might mean not being able to pick a side at all.
If you don’t care which faction you join, please contact us before signing-up so and we will point you towards the group that needs your support the most.
How do I sign-up?
A single representative of your group has to simply submit the form below. Only one submission per LARP group is required.
Changing your affiliation at a later time will not be possible.
If you have any additional questions, please ask them via the community channels or by contacting us.
